Some facts & figures
Aurubis Olen has a rich history of more than 100 years in Olen. The company underwent several name changes over the years. It started as Compagnie Industrielle Union in 1908, before becoming Métallurgie, Union Minière and Umicore, leading to the independent entity Cumerio in 2005. In 2009, Cumerio was acquired by the German company Norddeutsche Affinerie. The two companies merged to form a new company, Aurubis.
